    New Restaurants To Try In Jersey City

    Jersey City has a growing range of food options, offering everything from Cuban cuisine to Japanese ramen. With so many great options, it can be difficult to know where to start. Not to worry! We’ve handpicked the best new restaurants in Jersey City for you to check out:

     

    Menya Sandaime

    570 Washington Blvd. (just steps away from the PATH Newport stop)

    Menya Sandaime opened in the beginning of the year, becoming one of the first authentic Japanese ramen shops in Jersey City. Each meal is made with traditional recipes passed down for three generations.

    Diesel & Duke

    389 Monmouth Street

    Located only a few blocks from the Grove Street Path Station, this burger joint opened on August 7th. The restaurant promises “to deliver delicious fresh burgers at an affordable cost for the local community.” Their menu includes a few classic burger options such as The Standard, with American cheese, lettuce and tomato, as well as a few funky flavors such as the S.P.B.B., which is an acronym for Sriracha, peanut butter and bacon.

    Crepe Guru

    110 Bright Street

    This specialty crepe restaurant opened shop on August 8th, offering both savory and dessert crepes. One of the top picks on the savory side is The Donald with Sirloin Steak, Russian dressing, lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese. A top pick for the sweet side is The NY Cheesecake – A whole piece of NY cheesecake centered and cooked inside a crepe, then topped off with freshly sliced strawberries and Nutella or dark chocolate.

    Wingin It

    122 Ocean Avenue

    Wingin It opened up on August 11th in the Greenville neighborhood. The restaurant offers over 30 unique flavors of wings, including butter garlic, honey Sriracha, strawberry habanero, lemon pepper, and sweet chili.

    Rumba Cubana

    235 Pavonia Avenue

    Alan and Nairelys Lopez opened this authentic Cuban cuisine restaurant in Bergen, N.J. in 2004. Originally named Rumba’s Café, the cafeteria-style restaurant later expanded into Rumba Cubana, opening various locations around New Jersey. The Jersey City location is their latest addition.

    Ruth’s Chris Jersey City Steakhouse

    499 Washington Blvd.

    The upscale steakhouse, with locations across the U.S., will start accepting reservations at their Jersey City location starting on August 27. The original restaurant was founded 50 years ago in New Orleans by Ruth Fertel. The chain is known for their world-class USDA Prime steaks and bone-in cuts.

    Los Cuernos Mexican Cantina

    499 Washington Blvd.

    Right next door to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Los Cuernos Mexican Cantina is slated to open by the end of the summer in Newport. The upscale Mexican restaurant is operated by the same team behind Taqueria Downtown.
